Hey everybody,
In the debate over which material is better for a popcorn popper, I’m firmly in the stainless steel camp.
Both stainless steel and aluminum have their merits, but the former is just better performance and durability-wise.
Aluminum might heat up faster, however, that also means it’s more prone to burning your popcorn. On the flip side, a stainless steel popper with a multi-clad metal bottom offers even heat distribution for perfectly popped kernels.
Stainless steel is the tougher material as well. You can simply feel the difference by holding it. It feels solid and substantial — not flimsy at all.
Another thing I want to highlight is that stainless steel poppers like the Popsmith work with induction stoves. Aluminum poppers don’t since they aren’t magnetic.
So while you might spend more upfront with our Popper, it’s worth the investment. I’m sure it’s the kitchen gadget your grandkids will be fighting over one day. 😎
Pop on,
