Hi friend,
Hope you had a lovely week. As always, I’m going to Wrap-Up this week’s best happenings for your 60 second reading pleasure.
There's a reason
Beaujolais has so many
devotees. Bright fruit, big freshness, no hard edges.
This young gun is working a tiny pocket of Lantignié and making wines that are getting plenty of people excited. Violets, blueberries. Jumps right out the glass. You're getting
bang for buck here.
I bet you've never heard of
this grape before. It's been hanging around
Sicily for centuries, mostly blended into Marsala, but these days it's making a pretty
convincing case as a crisp, salty white. It's textured and nutty with a
persimmon, lychee, citrus thing going on. If you're the type who always orders something you've never heard of,
go here.
Pinot drinkers are always chasing something. Usually another Pinot. Save yourself the trouble—
your next one's here. Bright fruit, plenty of
energy and all the reasons you reached for the variety in the first place.
That's all from me. Enjoy your weekend.
Cheers,
Jared
