Beyond Film: Engaging Talks With 2026 Fest Artists |
The stories don’t stop when the credits roll. Our Beyond Film lineup is back — running from January 23 to 30 — with a bold mix of conversations and cultural deep dives that connect artists and audiences. This year’s schedule features inspiring voices like Ava DuVernay, Barbara Kopple, Salman Rushdie, James Wan, Alex Gibney, Elijah
Wood, and John Turturro, who will join us for engaging chats across three series:
Cinema Café presented by Audible: Though-provoking chats between unexpected pairings of artists and special guests.
The Big Conversation (supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation): A timely discussion on humans, technology, and time.
Power of Story: Honoring artists whose work continues to reshape the future of storytelling, the year’s event turns the spotlight on legacy.
Every Beyond Film event outside of Power of Story is free to attend, so whether you’re in Park City or experiencing the discussions from home, make room in your schedule. Many of these conversations will also be available online and in the Sundance Film Festival 2026 app the day after they happen.

Add This Film to Your Schedule |
Our latest addition to the 2026 Sundance Film Festival’s Park City Legacy program, celebrating the Festival’s rich history and shared experiences in Utah through archival and restoration screenings of iconic films from previous editions and artists talks with notable Festival alumni,, includes Guillermo del Toro’s horror classic Cronos, which premiered during the 1994 Festival. In Cronos — starring Ron Perlman, Federico Luppi, Tamara Shanath, Margarita Isabel, and Claudio Brook — an aging antiques dealer discovers a mysterious device that grants eternal life, but at a horrifying cost. We’re thrilled to include the Academy Award–winning writer-director’s first feature-length film in our lineup that will feature a special extended Q&A with Guillermo del Toro!
