We are privileged to announce that during Celebrating Sundance Institute: A Tribute to Founder Robert Redford, an evening dedicated to appreciating Redford’s legacy, vision, and enduring mission to support independent storytellers during the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, we will celebrate a group of dynamic artists. Chloé Zhao will receive the annual Trailblazer Award Presented by Google, Nia DaCosta will be honored with the annual Vanguard Award Presented by Acura for Fiction, and Geeta Gandbhir will be presented with the annual Vanguard Award Presented by Acura for Nonfiction. The special event, at which Ed Harris and Gyula Gazdag will also be honored with the inaugural Robert Redford Luminary Award, will take place at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, on Friday, January 23.
