Hi,
At just 25 years old, French triathlete Marjolaine Pierre has already made her mark as one of the sport’s most exciting rising stars.
🇫🇷 Born in Reims, France, and raised on the tropical island of La Réunion, her journey from gymnastics to elite endurance athlete is as unique as her rapid ascent through the ranks.
🏅 From Gymnastics to World Champion Triathlete
Marjolaine didn’t start triathlon until age 18, yet has achieved what seems impossible in such a short timeframe. By age 23, she had claimed a world championship title – the 2023 ITU Long Distance World Championship in Ibiza, Spain.
What makes the ITU Long Distance championship victory crazy? It was an entirely new distance for her. Marjolaine hadn’t ridden over 62 miles before 2023, yet found herself leading solo during the 75-mile bike leg. She eventually finished the race 10 minutes ahead of second place.
That iconic finish line moment, celebrating alongside partner Clément Mignon (who won the men’s title just minutes earlier), perfectly captured their journey as a couple from junior competitors to world champions.
💪 Resilience Under Pressure
Marjolaine’s climb to the top hasn’t been without extreme challenges. She suffered an incredible four stress fractures in 2022, and another one in June of this year.
In a display of grit and mental toughness, she recovered to win her 2023 title. And she’s back to world-beating form this year, winning the World Triathlon Long Distance Championship.
Marjolaine has been refreshingly transparent about her mental and physical welfare. This includes being open about battling RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport), which can contribute to stress fractures. The willingness to share personal struggles to help others has made her a fan and The Feed favorite.
⛽ Fueling Championship Performance
What can we learn from Marjolaine’s rapid rise?
Proper nutrition and recovery are non-negotiable. Marjolaine understands this better than most, given her battle with RED-S. Training is only part of the equation. Strategic fueling before, during and after sessions is critical for staying healthy, and can be the difference between good and great performances.
⚡ Ready to fuel your own breakthrough?
Marjolaine personally curated her namesake pack with her favorite products that keep her going for multiple sessions every day. We also believe they help keep her so upbeat and full of energy – it’s contagious.
The Marjolaine Pierre Pack includes:
Maurten Gel 160 – This is Marjolaine’s hands-down favorite carb source, and she loves that you can chew or drink it. The 40 g of carbs means she doesn’t have to carry so many, and the hydrogel passes quickly through the stomach to the intestines, eliminating gastric issues.
GU Energy Chews Salted Lime – Marjolaine relies on these for longer sessions because the salty flavor keeps her eating amidst all the sweet flavors. She also depends on the 125 mg of sodium (3x more than other chews) in each 8-pack of chews to keep her hydrated, along with 23 g of carbs.
RXBAR Protein Bar - Chocolate Sea Salt – Marjolaine appreciates real food that’s simple, yet delicious. This bar is only egg whites, nuts, dates and a touch of sea salt perfection. You have to trust the French when it comes to delicious food. Each bar can kick off her workout or recovery with 23 g of carbs and 12 g of protein.
Dream Shot – Marjolaine told us that sleep is her #1 recovery essential. The pure, premium ingredients in this 2-ounce shot calm her mind, reduce cortisol and help her deal with stress for deeper, longer and more restorative sleep. She won’t go without it.
