Hi,
This week: FREE shipping is here, my sleep hack secrets revealed, Maurten's OG and 2.0 drink mixes compared, plus new products I'm personally obsessed with (and think you will be too)
Free Shipping > Tariffs.
I spent my week making sure you won't have to pay crazy tariffs on our products. It's a total dumpster fire out there, nobody knows what's going to happen or when. So I said, let's do the opposite of everyone else. Let's make The Feed more affordable and just go ahead and make shipping Free.
We all got in the board room and said how do we make sure our athletes don't get hurt by tariffs. Finance had spreadsheets on spreadsheets. Marketing offered to make an OnlyFans account (I vetoed that one), Purchasing asked for a plane to go pick up product (I offered them a ⛵️sail boat, they said no).
The reality is the vast majority of our products remain and will remain tariff free as it is made right here in the USA. Products that aren't, we are working hard to avoid any cost changes (so far so good) and even move manufacturing here for others.
Now back to Free Shipping.
I've wanted to do this for years. Now that we have super reliable and affordable shipping with FedEx we can try an experiment to see if we can make the numbers work on this. I hate paying for shipping and I'm sure you do too.
So I'm making it 100% Free at least until the end of the month. Help me keep it free for the whole summer.
The issue with Free Shipping is if you place a bunch of small orders, it kills the economics. I realize that's a me problem, not a you problem, but if you want to keep shipping free and you normally order around $80+ or more, keep doing that. I'm also giving you $10 Feed Credit for every order of $80 or more. So stock up on our "tariff free" inventory (that I hope to keep that way) and enjoy Free Shipping.
My quest for a perfect night's sleep
I feel like I'm going all Brian Johnson (the guy trying to live forever) on my quest to crack the perfect night of sleep. I think Huberman's sleep protocol is a great place to start, but I've been making some changes that I think make it better and a bit more affordable.
Here is my current sleep formula in order of importance:
Top 4 things:
Try that protocol and see how it works for you. It's been working wonders for me and I'm a terrible sleeper. I'm still experimenting with more stuff, but so far that is the best combination for the price that I've found.
Maurten's New Drink Mix (and the OG version still available at 33% off)
Last week Maurten dropped a new 2.0 version of their popular drink mix. The updates address the one real criticism I had with the drinks, which is that they can be hard to mix sometimes and require lots of shaking. The new 2.0 version makes it much easier to dissolve and it has a small amount of sodium bicarbonate to help protect your teeth.
I'm going to let you in on a little secret. I still have some Maurten 1.0 aka OG Drink Mix available at 33% off, but there isn't a product page. You have to go to our Hot Deals page, scroll down a bit, and click on there, you save 33%.
New Stuff for your next workout:
Easy Protein Shot: I'm on a quest to get our endurance athletes to consume more protein post-workout. I have a new product from Supa that is an orange creamsicle shot that tastes amazing and has 20g of protein. No blenders, no powders, just a quick drink shot that means you have no excuse for not getting your 20g+ of protein immediately post workout.
$15 Smoothie at Home (for under $5): Lokahi is now at The Feed. It is a great tasting, plant-based protein superfood shake. It is more than just a protein shake, it is a full superfood blend that is delicious. Basically it is one of those $15 smoothies at the gym, but you can make it at home for under $5. I like to add a half a banana and use whole milk or creamy oat milk and blend it.
Hottest new Real Food Gel: From the belle province of Quebec we have the best real food gel I've tried this year from Kronos. Their flavors are amazing and range from the traditional fruity (blueberries, tropical, citrus) to a nod to their homeland with great maple flavors. I tried out the whole product line and it is all great and all natural. The gels are where you should start.
New low-key Feed Gear: I realize we don't all want to walk around with the giant fluro Feed logos like our pros, so I created a more low-key line that is much more muted and lighter on the branding including hats, run hats, and new cross body bags. These cross body bags are really useful. They are basically identical to the Lululemon one that they sell for $38, but we sell ours at cost for only $19. Grab it before tariffs make it $190 :-)
Enjoy your week of training!
