In the aftermath of a difficult time in our lives, we encounter perhaps our most accessible form of resurrection. The pain that initially feels like a small death — the former partner, the lost job, the death of a loved one — gradually transforms into something else entirely. We return with a renewed sense of embodiment, carrying within us both the wisdom of our wounds and a deeper capacity for vulnerability.
Regardless of religious beliefs, the concept of resurrection offers a universal template: that which seems irrevocably lost can return in altered form; the tomb might, with patience, reveal itself as merely the chrysalis of our next becoming.
