Welcome to Round Up! - April 1, 2024 -
Hello, and welcome to Round Up! Here in the U.S., it’s a great month if you love mud and tax prep. Luckily, YNAB has a number of features to organize your spending history and get those tax returns shipped! Ben M upends the conventional personal-finance opinion that lattes and little treats are a wasteful indulgence. Do I Have to Give EVERY Dollar a Job?
The Budget Nerds dig into the reasons why giving every dollar a job is essential to creating a stress-free life around money. Leaving cash unassigned—even if kept in a savings account—doesn’t give us clarity on what it can actually cover (and delays the all-important act of making trade-offs).

Flag Transactions for Your Partner 💕
|
|
YNAB Together allows partners and loved ones to share a budget and team up on planning and decision-making. Transaction flags are a great way for budget collaborators to communicate within YNAB and avoid having to text each other about mysterious transactions during the day.
You can create a custom flag on web and mobile to let your partner know that a transaction needs to be categorized. They can then change the flag to show it’s been properly categorized. After that, we’d recommend starting a Fortune 500 business together because you both are ON TOP of your stuff!

Quiz answer: Though we’ve produced a lot of cheeky content on April Fool’s Day, we’ve yet to make our mark in the canon of true-crime podcasts. For your enjoyment, here are some of our favorites: Spendy, the creepy AI assistant; physical push notifications; and Jesse’s beautiful, impractical all-paper version of the YNAB app (audio only).
