Hi [Name],
Over the summer, I had the privilege of traveling to Malawi with a group of dedicated charity: water supporters. I’ve led dozens of trips like this, but this one was extra special because it was the first time my daughter, Haven, was able to come with me. We spent time in Dedza, a district in Malawi’s Central Region, meeting families in communities that now have access to clean water for the first time.
In one of those communities, we met Samuel, a student who greeted us with a poem he had written to honor everyone who helped bring water to his village. Samuel’s words stopped me in my tracks. Hearing him speak, I couldn’t help but see the connection between his life and Haven’s — two young people, not far apart in age, living on opposite sides of an ocean but sharing the same hope for the future.
I asked Samuel if I could share his poem with the charity: water team and our community of supporters. He kindly agreed.
This trip reminded me that every water project, every life changed, and every child, like Samuel, with a bright future exists because of people like you. People who choose to act with generosity and faith in something bigger than themselves.
As we approach the end of the year, I want to invite you to make that choice. By making a one-time gift before December 31, your generosity can bring clean water to more young people who are still waiting — and help ensure they grow up healthy and hopeful. Give today on our website and, as always, 100% will go to clean water: charitywater.org/donate
I hope you have an amazing holiday season!
With gratitude,
Ben Greene
