A complaint has been "lodged with the Dutch data protection authority by privacy rights not-for-profit noyb, accus[ing] X [formerly Twitter] of failing to enforce its own its advertising guidelines." Against X's own terms and conditions, the European Commission found it was able to target individuals based on their political affiliations and/or religious beliefs.
