A pandemic-era side project that has carried on, Middle Aged Dad Jam Band is the brainchild of longtime comedy collaborators David Wain and Ken Marino. The band largely consists of friends and acquaintances of the two middle-aged dads, with a rotating roster of players depending on the song and venue. Their latest release is an enthusiastic version of Gerry Rafferty’s “Baker Street,” with fellow The State alum (among many other things) Joe Lo Truglio stepping in as lead vocalist. (Side note: For my money, “Baker Street” into “Right Down the Line” on Rafferty’s City to City album is one of the greatest 1-2 punches in music history.) I recommend watching all of the MADJB videos, but as a Lo Truglio fan, I think this is a good place to start. If you want to compare his performance with Paul Rudd’s equally absurd Rafferty impression, you can see a snippet of that here. -DW
