“We want to make potty training as positive and fun as possible! Any success that we can muster out of our children in those first few days we want to celebrate. A success is considered: self-initiating and going to the potty on their own, starting to poop while not on the potty but then finishing on the potty, OR going when asked/prompted without resistance. Immediately after your child finishes pooping (and washing their hands of course), hand over the reward and celebrate with lots of praise!”

💬 Your Questions, Answered 💬 |
|
|
Q: How do I dress my baby so they stay comfy and cool? |
A: For newborns, single layer, lightweight clothing in natural fibers like linen, cotton, or bamboo are ideal. Babies 6 months and younger should be kept in the shade as their skin is too sensitive for sunscreen. For your littles 6+ months, make sure to reapply sunscreen every two hours. To top it all off, hats and sunglasses are also wonderful at protecting your baby from the sun– plus they’ll look adorable. |
Q: How do I prevent and treat bug bites on my kiddos? |
A: You can apply bug spray before heading outside. If you’re using a repellant with DEET, make sure to use one with no more than 30% and avoid use on children under 2 months. If your little one has a bite that they can’t stop scratching, try Benadryl, calamine lotion, an oatmeal bath, or cold compress to provide some relief. If you’re exploring a wooded area, it's a smart idea to wear protective clothing and check everyone for ticks once your adventure is over. |
