Hi ,
The transition to autumn is felt differently by everyone. For some, it’s the leaves turning color and falling to the ground. For others, it’s cooler temps and the arrival of “sweata weatha.” For me, it’s Fat Bear Week. Once those beautiful, plump bears grace my Instagram feed, I know it’s time to prep myself for hibernation season—via treats, of course, and more nourishing skincare than what’s sufficed in the summer.
If you’re feeling the effects of dryer than usual skin, here are a few things you can revisit in your body routine:
Body wash. Your summertime cleanser might have been a heavy-hitter at rinsing off grime, oil, sweat, and layers of sunscreen during peak heat, but these days, the squeaky-clean feeling isn’t as desired. Luckily, Comfort Cleanse does all that, while also imparting moisture to skin (even post-rinse). This is thanks to the 25% glycerin in the formula. I use it year-round for this reason, even if I’m entertaining other body washes on the side. ;)
A more emollient moisturizer. If you’ve been using Speed Soak (our rehydrating gel cream), or another body moisturizer that’s on the light-watery side, it’s time to transition to something more moisturizing. Carea Cream, which I also use year-round, would step in seamlessly because despite being richer, it still absorbs quickly. For very dry skin, try layering the two—OR, mix a few drops of body oil with 1-2 pumps of Carea Cream. I love this one.
Don’t abandon your hands. They’re just as exposed to the elements as our faces. On top of that, they do everything for us, so they take the brunt of wear and tear from manual labor. I’m a biter, and when I’m not biting, I’m picking at my cuticles (yay anxiety!), so using Theraplush nightly keeps the condition of my hands in check. I definitely see and feel a raspy difference when I skip a few nights.

Stay moisturized. Stay warm. Stay fluffy. It’s what the bears would want.
Softly,

Karina
