Our Picks for Iconic Parker Posey Sundance Film Fest Roles |
Parker Posey is truly one of a kind. From her fierce side-eye looks to her infectious dry humor — on display as she embodied Victoria in the latest season of The White Lotus — she is a legend. Mike White’s hit show may have introduced Posey to a new audience, but here at the Sundance Institute, we’ve been die-hard fans of the icon — who has appeared in 17 Sundance Institute and Festival–supported films — for decades. To mark the conclusion of The White Lotus season three, we highlight Posey in our regular series Personnel Thoughts, where Sundance Institute employees recommend indie film gems. |

Get to Know the Filmmaker Behind The Wedding Banquet |
When Andrew Ahn’s The Wedding Banquet premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, senior director of programming Kim Yutani declared it “a love letter to the unconventional ways queer relationships survive and thrive.” She couldn’t have been more on point. Starring Bowen Yang, Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran, Han Gi-chan, and Youn Yuh-jung, the film, in theaters April 18, centers on two gay couples whose plan for a green card marriage in return for pricey IVF treatments takes an unexpected turn when a relative surprises them with a wedding banquet. In our Give Me the Backstory series, hear from Ahn on the film’s inspiration and message. And on April 25, join us for a live online chat with Ahn during our Spotlight Event: Reimagining The Wedding Banquet. |
