Freaky Tales, Eno, Veni Vidi Vici: Day 1 of the Fest was Full of Cinematic Magic
|
“So many people come to Sundance for this element of discovery and that is really present in this year’s program. 95% of our program are world premieres and 40% are first-time feature filmmakers.” Kim Yutani, director of programming, shared this to a crowded Filmmaker Lodge yesterday during a panel discussion with CEO Joana Vicente, Festival Director Eugene Hernandez, and Jason Blum, founder of Blumhouse. “I think that really establishes us as the place for people to come — industry, film fans, other programmers from festivals — to really see what this year has to offer.”
Day one was full of excitement as Festgoers flocked to theaters to catch sold-out screenings in Park City, including Veni Vidi Vici, Layla, Thelma, and Stress Positions. Be sure to visit our Highlights page to explore more film recaps.
