The Festival Expands From Utah to Your Couch and Everywhere In-Between This Week
|
It’s day six of the Festival (can you believe it?!), and while many films are sold-out in person, there are tons of screenings still available to nab online, including Between the Temples, Suncoast, Sue Bird: In The Clutch, Gaucho Gaucho, Kneecap, and many others.
Online screenings start January 25 and are available on demand through January 28, which means your Festival slate is really on your schedule. Go to the Film Program Guide and use the filter at the top to see which films are available online, then buy a ticket to your favorites before they sell out.
For those of us still in Utah, head to Salt Lake City for screenings of Porcelain War, Girls Will Be Girls, Handling the Undead, Union, and Your Monster, and then check out partner events at the Filmmaker Lodge in Park City. Today Pioneer Works, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and Simons Foundation will host a riveting conversation with Jonathan Nolan and Janna Levin as they examine Nolan’s vast catalog of imaginative works. Day 5 Recap: Filmmakers Discuss AI, Will & Harper and Rob Peace Brings Festivalgoers to Their Feet
|
It was a big day for standing ovations at Eccles with Chiwetel Ejiofor making his directorial feature debut, and Will Ferrell and Harper Steele closing down the night with laughter and love. Meanwhile, Festgoers flooded the Filmmaker Lodge to hear a panel discussion supported by Alfred P. Sloan Foundation about the science and technology of machine learning and the range of imaginative, dystopian, and sometimes prophetic narratives that storytellers have put forth in exploring it.
See what else you may have missed at the Festival yesterday and check out our Daily Recap presented by Adobe on Instagram.
