Sundance Film Festival: CDMX 2026 Returns to Mexico City This Spring! |
|
Bringing a bold lineup, the third edition of Sundance Film Festival: CDMX arrives in Mexico City from April 30 to May 3, 2026. Anchored at Cinépolis Diana, with additional screenings at Cinépolis Mitikah, Cinépolis Oasis Coyoacán, Cinépolis Plaza Carso, and Cinépolis VIP Miyana, the Festival will feature titles fresh from the 2026 Sundance Film Festival — including American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez, The Best Summer, The Invite, undertone, If I Go Will They Miss Me, and more. We’re excited to celebrate boundary-pushing artistry in Mexico City through unforgettable screenings, filmmaker talks, and the gathering of cinephiles eager to experience the next wave of indie storytelling. Tickets will be available starting April 10. |

In theaters this month, catch Sundance Institute–supported films that premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, including Mad Bills to Pay (or Destiny, dile que no soy malo), which won the NEXT Special Jury Award for Ensemble Cast. The film follows a young Bronx couple, played by Juan Collado and Destiny Checo, as they deal with the realities of teen pregnancy. Also out in April is Bunnylovr, starring writer-director Katarina Zhu alongside Rachel Sennott, about a cam girl entangled with a toxic client. Plus, don’t miss the John Magaro–starring Omaha, a moving story of a father who sets out on a cross-country journey with his children after a devastating loss. DJ Ahmet Calls Us To Dance and Be Brave |

Out April 3, catch Georgi M. Unkovski’s DJ Ahmet, which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and took home the Audience Award: World Cinema Dramatic. Set in a rural North Macedonian village, the vibrant film follows music-obsessed teen Ahmet (Arif Jakup) as he falls for a girl promised to another and pushes back against his strict father and the expectations of his conservative community.
