Hey there! My name is Anthony. For the last three years, I’ve managed this newsletter, where we share charity: water’s most inspiring stories — all made possible by supporters like you.
Every month Good News is chockful of hope — which is kind of ironic.
Truth be told, cynicism comes much easier to me. Hope is something I have to practice. Most days, it takes work.
At the end of May, I traveled to Tanzania with 18 colleagues to spend time with our local partners and the communities we serve. For most of us, it was our first time getting to experience charity: water’s work up close.
Of all the unforgettable moments from that week, one really sticks out. We’d just arrived in a village that doesn’t have access to clean water — yet.
Before we even stepped out of the cars, there were dozens of people welcoming us with singing and dancing. Their joy was palpable — and even more notable was their hope. This community was brimming with hope for how clean water would soon transform their lives.
That moment softened something in me. How could it not?
But enough about me. Who am I to tell you about hope? You’re here. You choose to support charity: water, which means you believe that things can be better. Your generosity starts a chain reaction that ends in people dancing and singing. Unbridled, contagious joy.
Thank you for choosing hope, and making joy possible.
