Hi [Name], I wanted to share a special new project I’ve been working on called The Experience Lab, based just outside Nashville, TN. It’s our first-ever immersive, storytelling environment where we invite supporters (and future supporters!) on a 60-minute guided journey into humanity’s search for water — and how they can be part of the solution through the charity: water community. From day one, innovation has been core to our mission. We knew bringing everyone clean water would take innovative approaches, big ideas, new models, and powerful experiences that move people to act. The Experience Lab is our latest example. Made possible by a single, generous donation, guests experience: | | • | | A Dolby Atmos widescreen theater, holographic storytelling, and a breathtaking Virtual Reality film that bring to life the people and places at the heart of our work | | • | | Interactive exhibits, from microscopes to a powerful “WaterWalk” room, that reveal the daily toll of dirty water | | • | | The Give Shop, where guests can join The Spring, sponsor a water project, or even explore The Well — the community of 136 families funding our overhead | | At the very end, guests pump a real well. Clean water flows. A digital cube fills. And they hear the sound of singing from a village we helped — a moment they will never forget. Here’s a short video and a few photos. If you’re ever in the Nashville area, or know someone who is, please email my team and we’ll arrange a special tour for you as a supporter. (And if a trip isn’t in the cards, don’t worry. We’re working on bringing this experience around the country in the months and years to come.) | Gratefully, Scott Founder and CEO | | | | Try your hand at some impact trivia. Click on your answer below and see how you do! | Which of the following is not a type of water project funded by charity: water (and supporters like you)? | | | | | | • | | How does her garden grow? In honor of Earth Month, we want to invite you to revisit Editor, our friend in Zimbabwe with a green thumb — and a great deal of gumption. Because Editor reminds us that even when problems seem insurmountable, the solutions can be remarkably simple. | | • | | It wouldn’t be Earth Month without Aveda. This Earth Month, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Aveda and illustrator Melissa Koby to provide water with the Limited Edition Botanical Repair™ Bond-Building Styling Creme. $15 from each purchase (up to $500,000; see site for details) will directly fund clean water projects in Nepal, India, Madagascar, and Ethiopia. Since 2018, the Aveda community has provided clean water for an astounding 152,000+ people—and we’re excited to continue our impact together. Thank you, Aveda! | | • | | Sweet dreams are made of this. We’re hitting snooze on our dreamy World Water Day initiative—Sleep For Water—though it’s not too late to change the world in your sleep. Thanks to everyone who engaged with Sleep For Water on social media — and to everyone who’s joined this lazy movement so far. You’ve made dreams come true. | | • | | Making your will doesn’t need to be taxing. Tax season is a great time to get your estate plan in order. After all, you've got all your financial documents close at hand, including your receipts for the past year’s charitable donations. While you’re thinking about how you’ve given back, why not give a little thought to the legacy you want to leave behind? If you don’t have a will, you can create one easily — and for free — at FreeWill. Don’t worry: it’s simpler than filing your taxes. | | | | | 230 Franklin Rd., Ste. 11-II, Franklin, TN 37064 | | | | | |
