David’s out on a much needed vacation this week, so, as we head into August, I thought I’d share a few thoughts on the products that have been leveling up my experience this season. Consider this is your annual reminder that summer doesn’t end on Labor Day, it ends on September 22, which means there are still 49 days of summer left. Soak it up. -VvP

I was reminded last weekend of how good a party high this flavor of Little Strong Drink is. I worry sometimes that people are scared off by the THC label—there’s 100mg in a bottle—but the point of Little Strong Drink isn’t to drink a lot of it. I measure my intake by the half-capful, which is about 5mg THC. The onset is pretty quick and just so darn fun. It makes me feel loose and giggly, almost like a bitty dose of mushrooms, and it’s as great during a park hang on a sunny day as it is for a late night dance party. It’s small enough to fit in most purses, which is rare for an infused beverage and means you don’t have to step outside to partake. Plus, it’s always fun to ask people if they want a sip of “LSD.” -VvP

I recently got my hands on the latest issue of Brick, an independent music and culture publication out of the U.K., and am psyched to add it to my rotation. Brick releases multi-cover issues twice a year shining a spotlight on the new guard of hip hop. The current issue, lucky number 11, features profiles on Benny the Butcher, Amaarae, Larry June, and Bktherula, as well as a look through the archives of photographer Lisa Leone, whose ability to capture legends like Lauryn Hill and Snoop Dogg in intimate, unguarded moments is best seen in print. -VvP

If any of you happen to be in the vicinity of Taos, New Mexico and are interested in seeing a bit of an off-the-beaten path art installation, make a reservation for the newly opened $crap$ Shrine. (And if you’re not in the area, order their rolling papers.) -VvP

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now and if I had to pick one edible to eat for the rest of my life, it would be Rose Los Angeles’ Mango 1:1 Delights. With a satisfyingly chewy texture, sweet mango flavor, and 2.5mg THC and 2.5mg CBD per piece, it’s a near perfect experience. I never have to worry about getting too high, and the balanced formulation means the buzz is smooth and relaxing, which is what I want from an everyday edible. If I want to level up, I take two, and if I’m with some of my more nervous friends, I’ll tell them to start with just a half. I like to take one around 6PM, as I’m wrapping up work and starting to cook dinner, so it hits just as I sit down to eat and enjoy the rest of my night, but it’s also great on a weekend morning, when I want to treat myself without getting fully baked. -VvP
