2024 was the year Apple, Gmail, and Yahoo each released their own versions of AI-generated email summaries, putting the precious real estate under the subject line (known to marketers as preview text) at risk.
But have no fear! As we’ve come to understand, preview text is simply evolving.
With 2025 around the corner, now’s the time to rethink your email “envelope”—that is, your email sender name, subject line, and preview text.
Our advice? Shift your
efforts to optimizing your subject line (vs. preview text) and revisit your automated sends to see that your subject line/preview text combinations still make sense.
