How to Fuel
When you run a marathon, your body has only enough glycogen stored to fuel about 90–120 minutes at race pace. If you don’t take in additional carbohydrates, you’ll likely hit the wall. A proven strategy is to take a gel 15 minutes before the start, then continue consuming carbohydrates in the form of gels and drink mix every 30–45 minutes throughout the race.
