Hi,
GU Energy Labs launched in 1993 and was among the first to offer energy gels and chews. Its expansive product line reflects its long and successful track record.
Humble Beginnings
GU has always done things for the right reasons. Dr. Bill Vaughn developed the first GU gel to help his daughter compete in ultradistance running races. Like many others at the time, fueling for increasingly longer endurance events without creating stomach issues was a mystery for her.
Dr. Vaughn, a biophysicist, started concocting GU in his kitchen. In 1996, the brand distributed its energy gels at the Ironman World Championship, making GU Energy Labs the first major distributor of energy gels.
What’s New at GU
Just in time for summer, GU launched its Fruit Punch Energy Chews. GU Energy Chews were one of the originals, and they have been long-standing staples for The Feed pounding the miles.
This refreshing, fruity flavor and soft consistency make the GU Fruit Punch Energy Chews easy to eat when the temperature is high and your mouth is dry.
GU Energy Gels: Always There, Always Reliable
No brand stateside has a longer track record in the gel game, making GU Energy Gels a reliable fueling source for many. Each serving packs 22 g of carbs, electrolytes to support hydration and amino acids to protect muscles.
But GU offers a dizzying array of 16 flavors, including some with caffeine. Decisions can be difficult with enticing flavors like Salted Watermelon and Salted Caramel.
The Feed makes it easy for you with our GU Energy Gel Variety Pack, which bundles six best-selling flavors.
If you want to sample other GU products, try our GU Energy Tryout Pack, which includes eight gels, chews, stroopwafels, and drink tabs.
Stock up for your summer adventures with GU Energy Gels and Chews—the originals and still one of the best.
See you out there.
